2 weeks to go

The countdown is really underway, in 2 weeks I will have finished and hopefully celebrating in NY.
The last week has been busy meaning that planned sessions have had to be moved around.  No Pilate's on Monday as I had a WRR committee meeting so made do with an easy recovery run after last Sunday's 21.1 miles run.  I ran for 47'38" covering 4.52 miles at a 10'33" per mile pace mainly in HR Z1.  I was up early and working so I could get in a bike ride once it was light.  I went out on the Litchborough loop in 71'39" covering 18.97 miles at an average of 15.9mph.
I managed a swim on Wednesday morning, I swam for 46'56" covering 1,520m.  The session was a mix of drills playing catch up with fins as well as an endurance set.  In the evening I ran 8.41miles in 1hour 14'59" averaging 8'54" per mile - it was a good run with a diversion to explore the hospital grounds new build.  I was planning in doing a WRR session on Thursday but I was late away from Nottingham so went out for a slow speed session in Swan Valley.  I ran for 47'27" covering 5.54miles at 8'33" average pace per mile.  The main set was 7x3min fast with 1 min recovery.
I joined the club swim on Friday but arrived a few minutes late due to problems on the A45 so a shorter session than normal with 54'30" covering 1,850m with a mixture of endurance and drills with paddles.
As I am away on holiday I didn't do a bike ride but went for a run when I arrived at my holiday destination. It was good to get out for a run down to the coast on Morecambe Bay - the tide was out so plenty of mudflats.  I ran for 46'05" covering 5.09miles at a pace of 8'58" per mile.  The Sunday run plan was for 18 miles in about 2.5 hours so spent some time on line planning a route the night before - I found a good run, the only problem was that sunrise was due at 8am and many of the roads are narrow country lanes with lots of tight bends and blind spots.  It was cold, plenty of frost when I set out, it was light but the sun still hadn't risen at about 7.30am but it was bright with the hills looking stunning and the sea looking flat and bright, the sunrise was fantastic, a bit more exciting than the normal Northampton sunrise.  I ran for 2hours 42'38" covering 18.689miles at a pace of 8'41" per mile with 88% in HR Z3 so a good tempo run.
Feeling good as I begin the sharper taper towards NY but still training every day mainly running but some swimming and gym activity I hope.
