Paul Merton - an easy start to the week
Yesterday was a different day. No Pilate's class as I was at Drngate for the Paul Merton and Chums show. It was a good night out, the show was good so a diffeernt and relaxing evening, apart form our burglar alarm going off and needing to get Gavin to go round and sort out. Instead of a Pilate's class in the evening I went to the gym on the way home to do an hour's core and upper body conditioning session.
Tuesday's plan was never going to be achieved as I had a bike session planned with Steve Casson at 6pm and I had to be in London early morning so no chance to get the planned bike ride and run before work. The plan was to do the bike fit session and get to Box End if possible. In th end all that I did was the bike fit session. It was good to have a chat, Mel was with Steve when I arrived so it was good to exchange notes on where we were and getting on before getting the bike set-up checked. On the power meter my cycling form was pretty good for a runner with good efficiency. The position wasn't to bad, we explored the diferent settings to see what difference it made to the power/efficiency and all seemed OK. In reality it seems that the bike by trial and error, more error, on my part was well set up for my riding preferences and size. Spent some time on getting the gears set-up and they now seem to be better. Next task to get the bike on the road with the aero wheels on them.
So to catch up for today and to get back on track, I will get up and go for a swim early in the morning and then do the bike ride and run after work and then I will be back on schedule for the rest of the week.
I have finally taken the plunge and ordered a bike box, I agonised for ages and in the end decided to go for the Wiggle own brand hard box on cost grounds and availability others I looked at were out of stock on 7-10 days delivery and that seemed to much of a risk. I will have to practice packing it as I am sure it willnot be as easy as the instructions suggest.
