LAMM 2010 - I am not doing it this weekend.
For the last few years I would now be camped in some wild part of Scotland waiting for an early Saturday morning start on the 2 day mountain marathon that is the LAMM. Because of the IM I decided not to race this year so my normal partner - Andrey - is running with someone he is meeting at the event. Martin Fowler and Paul Matthews are also competing this year so double the usual number. The weather is also looking good for the most part compared to last year's snow. I am looking forward to reading the reports - I might even run a mountain marathon in the autumn before the NY marathon.
If you want to know more about mountain marathon's including mine and Andrey's story from 2008 I can recommend a very good book - see the advert on the right hand side.
Today's training was the Friday swim at Cripps. An hour's session covering 2,000m in lane 3 with Dave and Josie so plenty of space. 200m warm up, 400m, 2x200m, 2x50m, 4x25m, 5x100m, 2x50m pull buoy, 4x25m counting. I lost some time as my goggles wanted to leak to start with and it took several attempts to get a good seal, not sure why. I also got cramp in the foot and calf for the first time in several weeks, not sure why.
