2 days without my laptop!
You wouldn't think that just because I do not have my laptop it would get in the way of my training. It does, it feels like I have had my right arm cut off, simple things like just my favourites list, my email access as well as the transferring of my training data from the Garmin.
Onto the training. On Wednesday I had a really good swimming session. I had to take a lot of 'gear' with me, fins, paddles, pull buoy and kickboard as well as the normal stuff. It was also one of those mornings at the pool where there were lots of people in, shock horror I had to share a lane at 6.30am, its not heard of! The session was a new one, hence lots of reading time at the pool side putting my glasses on, but essentially it was trying to get me to swim faster with increased efforts but without wasting energy. So lots of changes from fins to paddles, pull buoys, etc for the different sets. In the end I swam for 1hr 4'51" and covered 2,240m - I did feel it was an assisted swim!
Then onto to Zoe for a bit more physio/massage. I do feel it is working although today she concentrated on my neck and shoulders and it hurt! Probably the most painful session I have had so far but my neck has been stiff with a limited range of movement for years so as with all her efforts it will take a time to be effective.
The day finished with a gym session, my normal routine, but trying to introduce more joined up core activity with a set of balances on one foot and moving around - I can do it on the floor if I take my shoes off but I cannot do it on a Bosu as yet.
Thursday only had one session. I had a busy day for work as well as having to prepare for a WRR Race Committee meeting tonight. The weather was a lot warmer, even if wet, it was the first club session in shorts for a few months. It was the double hills session in Group 3, 15 minutes on Back Lane and then 15 minutes on the Brackmills new road. I always find these sessions hard, they are not my favourite! It was a short session though 52'18" covering 5.49miles. As I do not have my laptop I cannot transfer the data, but it looks as if I had a good HR workout with the average of 143bpm - if I can believe the data.
Hopefully I will get the laptop back on Friday - a weekend working on the old one using slow web access to email and no access to my normal applications, including Garmin, will be very annoying.
