Swimming drills progression

Today was my chance to work on improving my swimming stroke with a drills progression session. The plan was to work through a range of different drills that allowed a focus on my stroke. An interesting discovery today was that when it comes to kicks with a float I can better progress without a float!!! I enjoyed the session although I was more tired than I have been for a while doing a total of 2080m in just over an hour. Some of this was assisted by the use of fins on the first set of drills - 400m, but after that I swam without fins.

I felt I did have an insight into my stroke today as I was working on the push and pull parts of the stroke such that when I was feeling strong I could really feel the difference when it worked well. I will see what difference this makes when I next do an endurance session.

Physio with Zoe today working on the legs, they are still lacking in full flexibility but they are getting better. Lots more work to do but really pleased I am committed to working with Zoe as part of my training.
